NO MUSIC CLUBS NEXT WEEK

All curriculum music lessons and extra-curricular music clubs are cancelled next week because Miss Rusbatch will be on the Isle of Wight for the Year 5 Residential Trip.

Next term, new sign-up forms will need to be completed before clubs commence (summer term sign-up forms will be available at the beginning of the summer term). See below (or the relevant club web page) for new term start dates:

MONDAY 23rd APRIL - YEAR 6 SUPER CHOIR (lunchtime)
WEDNESDAY 25th APRIL - MEGA CHOIR (8am)
THURSDAY 26th APRIL - ORCHESTRA (3.15-4.15)

Congratulations to all of the children in 4C and 4K for your performances on stage today. Having received only 9 lessons from Sarah and Miss Rusbatch, you have achieved so much. You also sang your socks off today. Well done!

BRILLIANT BAND BATTLE

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE FINAL!

The standard of performance at this year's Battle of the Bands Final was remarkable.
The judges (and audience) were blown away.

Over the next few days, final scores, feedback from the judges, photos and video clips will be added to the Battle of the Bands 2018 web page.

Huge thanks again to every child who was involved in this year's battle. The 60 bands who auditioned all showed a lot of potential. Miss Rusbatch is immensely proud of ALL OF YOU.

Perform to Peers

At the beginning of curriculum music lessons with Miss Rusbatch, the children are given the opportunity to perform to their class. Sometimes, children choose to sing, dance, act, or perform on their instrument. Today, Eleanor and Molly each demonstrated their current pieces on piano. Thanks girls - what a treat!

Battle of the Bands - AUDITION RESULTS

THANK YOU VERY MUCH and well done to everyone who auditioned this week – the quality of song writing and performance was higher than ever. Deciding the top 12 bands this year was incredibly difficult (Miss Rusbatch agonised over some of the decisions). Factors affecting selection included performance confidence, great band cohesion, consistent tempo, impressive lyrics with emotive/narrative content, strong instrumental performances, vocal harmonies and good song structure.
60 Bands auditioned – 188 children in total
ASTONISHINGLY, 49 of the 60 bands performed their own song in audition
12 bands made it through to the final (see above)
48 bands did not make it through to the final
Feedback will be given to all bands next week during lunchtime drop-in slots.
The final will take place on Tuesday 20th March in the school hall 18:00-19:30.
Miss Rusbatch will soon be in touch with the families of the finalists with information about the tickets, guest performers and the judges.
