Congratulations to the 6B Team - their Crime and Punishment Assembly today was educational, engaging, funny, musical and very well rehearsed. BRAVO everyone!
LAST REHEARSAL – Thursday 5th December
CONCERT – Friday 6th December 14:30 – 15:00 Tickets are not required for this concert. Please use the main office entrance on Rugby Road. Entrance to the school hall from 14:20. After the concert, video clips of the performances will be uploaded to the school’s music website (via the school’s music YouTube channel). The camera will be placed at the back of the hall. The footage will not feature any close-up shots of the children’s faces. If you do not want your child to be visible in the video clips, please contact Miss Rusbatch as soon as possible to discuss ways in which this can be achieved. NO MUSIC JAM on Thursday 12th December PARTY – Thursday 19th December 15:15 – 16:15 If you are able to, please send your child to school with sweet or savoury food / snack / fruit / chopped vegetables etc. to be shared with the rest of the children at the Music Jam party. Mega Choir & Super Choir Christmas Concert
St. Bartholomew's Church Thursday 12th December Doors will open for the children in the choir at 17:30. Doors will open for audience members at 17:45. The concert will begin at 18:00. The concert will end at 19:30. At this time, the children will be released from the performance area one class at a time, to join you in the audience area. You will then be free to leave the church and skip home with festive smiles on your faces and musical wings on your backs! The children must wear any combination of the following 6 colours: GREEN, RED, SILVER, GOLD, BLACK, WHITE. They may also wear festive headgear such as Santa hats, elf ears or reindeer antlers. Tickets are not required for this concert. We will instead be asking for donations on the evening. Money raised from donations will be shared between St. Bart's Church, the music department at Downs Junior School and a local charity (as chosen by the performers). Please remember to bring your cash donation with you to the church. Thank you in advance. Please be aware that seating in the church will be limited - standing room will be available at the back, and down the sides of the church. The 6T team gave an incredible performance of the story of Macbeth today. They performed three times, and each show was a great example of professionalism, projection, confidence, characterisation, comedy, musicality and story-telling. They came in to talk to the children about their lives as radio presenters (Capital FM) and also to promote their new book, 'Listen Up'.
