DAHL'S DREAM - A Stage Musical Written by Year 6

Year 6 and Miss Rusbatch have been working together to write a musical called Dahl's Dream, in which all of Dahl's memorable characters exist and live in the same village. We had a lot of fun plotting and planning ways in which they could interact and co-exist (or not)!

We have included characters from The BFG, Matilda, The Magic Finger, James and the Giant Peach, George's Marvellous Medicine, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches, Danny the Champion of the World, The Twits, The Minpins and The Giraffe The Pelly and Me. We have also included The Child Catcher (Dahl's character creation for the story/movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).

Please note: The lyrics for the bridge section of the finale have changed. See the lyrics below. Everyone now sings THE WHOLE SONG.
Whether you’re small or tall or chubby or fat
If you’re kind and thoughtful, or if you are a brat
Whether you’re spoilt or poor or selfish and rude
You should still believe, and follow your dreams,
Follow your dreams, follow your dreams, follow your dreams

If you are shy or bold or stupid and dumb
If you are an adult but you still suck your thumb
If you lie and cheat and scratch your bum
You should still believe, and follow your dreams
Follow your dreams, follow your dreams, follow your dreams

(Everyone continues to sing the 'new' bridge section)
Inspiration, exploration, celebration, DREAMS

Education, a new Invention, flatulation, DREAMS

If you are good or bad or evil and mean
We should work together and stand tall as a team
When life is hard and not as it seems
You should still believe, and follow your dreams
Follow your dreams, follow your dreams, follow your dreams
Follow your dreams…
