This was the finale to our whole school assembly, celebrating the end of an amazing autumn term. Wishing the Downs Junior School community a wonderful festive break. Congratulations to the entire Year 3 team of children and adults for bringing together a wonderful show, showcasing their learning experiences this term. Mega Choir IS ON tomorrowApologies for any confusion. It is absolutely fine if your child is unable to attend tomorrow morning, due to fatigue! We will be having a 'party' involving silly games and karaoke!
Merry Christmas one and all. Wishing you a fun and festive holiday. Click HERE to watch a playlist of videos of the performances from the Christmas Concert on 12.12.19. Keep your eyes on the Christmas 2019 web page for photos from the concert (thanks to Mrs. Martin). Below is a video of one of the 15 songs from the concert: The 12 Days of Christmas, starring Mega Choir, Super Choir and the audience. Well done to everyone involved - you were brilliant! WOWEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee! Well done to every child who participated in today's Christmas Concert to Ex-Pupils of the School. Many of the audience members have attended this concert for many years, and they all said that this year's was the BEST EVER!
Congratulations - all of your hard work has paid off. Now you are READY for tomorrow night's BIG concert at St. Bart's Church. See you there! (Doors for performers = 17:30. Doors for audience = 17:45. The forecast is wet. Please don't arrive early as you will not be permitted entrance to the church until the aforementioned times. Thank you) Tomorrow's performers (members of Mega Choir and Super Choir) are allowed to attend school in their festive concert outfits all day. They will be performing before lunchtime, to a hall full of adults who once attended Downs Junior School as children. Many of tomorrow's audience members are in their 70s, 80s and 90s. The children were all given this term's FINAL LETTER regarding tomorrow's, and Thursday's concerts. If required, download the letter below:
Here's an amazing photo by Ray Gibson from the Brighton Centre on Monday 2nd December 2019. The photo shows the full scale and size of the massed choir, and the audience (holding their phone torches aloft during the brilliant finale). There are some additional images by Ray Gibson below:
