Battle of the Bands lunchtime rehearsals have been in full swing for 4 weeks now - today it was the Year 6 rehearsal slot and there are lots of exciting and creative sounds flying around! For more information, visit the Battle of the Bands 2018 web page.
Today, year 6 have been learning how to perform the first phrase of the piece 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' by Grieg. Here's 6WP class ensemble (see the video below).
Next week, we'll develop the piece to include the next phrase. Eventually, we aim to further develop the overall sound by adding body percussion and voices.

EXCITING NEWS - Howard Blake, the composer of the music for The Snowman, has generously offered to pay for 130 tickets for the Year 3 children from our school to watch The Snowman Live at the Theatre Royal Brighton this week!
We will be walking down to the Theatre Royal on Thursday to experience the show, with a live orchestra. We are so humbled and honoured by Howard's generosity.
It will be an unforgettable cultural and wintry experience for all.

Today, Mega Choir started to learn This Is Me from The Greatest Showman. The children in 4K and 4C also learned how to perform musical accompaniment for his song on ukulele and pbuzz. Amazingly, they've only had 2 lessons on these instruments.

Last year, Mimi (now in Year 6) starred in a TV advert for Heart FM. This year, she's BACK - IN the back, that is, of a new audi car, discussing her own ideas for the future of driving.
