A beautiful, well-written and important song. It’s fantastic that you have chosen to sing about something so important to us all. Bravo! Lovely, warm vocal tone. A haunting song with a nice message in the lyrics. Well crafted. Showed some real emotion. Courageous. A lovely, moving song. An atmospheric piece with heartfelt lyrics. Amazing perseverance, despite the nerves. Keep going, keep performing – the more you do it, the better it gets. You inspired me.
AFFECT
You’re all great musicians. Love the variation on rhythm. Beautiful and moving piece of music. Lovely band dynamics. Love the artwork. Great to see a female drummer. Brilliant arrangement, allowing space for all of the instruments. Good structure. Well-rehearsed song. Loved the moody tone. Confident performance. Awesome visual projections. Glad to hear an instrumental piece. Loved the way the piano melody went up an octave towards the end. Maybe consider adding lyrics/vocals to your song.
LOST SOUND
What a song! Gorgeous song. Great! Excellent / fantastic piano skills. A pleasure to hear you play. I love the positive message in your song – thank you for sharing it with us. Great song-writing and togetherness. Would love to hear how your song develops. Real potential with your song. Great chemistry and friendship between you two on stage. Absolutely loved the message – accepting and celebrating exactly who you are. Fantastic split-piano playing using the left hand for the bass line and the right hand for lovely chordal patterns. Really well written. Well-coordinated. Thoughtful, sincere lyrics. I loved the way the lyrics developed until that last “me”.
BRIGHTON BROTHERS
Brilliant song – really well-written. Loved the lyrics. Catchy melody. Really good musicianship across the board. Great singing – strong vocal performance. Fabulous lyrics. Lyrically, the song was funny and clearly enjoyed by the audience too. Important that you included humour too – that gives you an edge and makes the song relatable and enjoyable. Awesome visuals. Memorable song. Fabulous band image. Great arrangement. Extremely confident and well-rehearsed. Love the photos. I like how the lead guitar picked out and strengthened the melody. Well done BN Boys. Rack and roll! We need to get you guys a gig at the AMEX stadium!

Please arrive at school between 17:40 and 17:50 and make your way to ‘The Green Room’ (the 6S classroom). You will wait here before and after your performance on the stage in the hall. There will be running order sheets displayed around the room. Use your time in the 6S classroom to tune your instruments and prepare for your performance. School staff will be with you in 6S to give you an excitable HIGH FIVE and ‘good luck’ thumbs up!
Miss Rusbatch will call each band into the hall, one at a time, to perform. After you have performed, you will return to the 6S classroom. The judges will be writing down comments about your performance and giving your band a score out of 10. After all 12 bands have performed, you will all be invited back into the hall and the final results will be revealed.
You can wear whatever you want. Face paint and make up is allowed.
The projector and screen is available to you if you would like to project an image, a band logo, a slideshow or a muted video that you’ve made. Be aware that the audience’s attention should be on you and your music, so don’t prepare to project anything too distracting! If you do decide to project something during your band’s performance, please email it (as an attachment or cloud link) to Miss Rusbatch by Monday 25th March - ([email protected])
Information about booking tickets for the final has been shared with families of finalists via text message. If you have not received this information, contact the school office.

Well done to everyone who has been busy writing songs and rehearsing.
This year, every single band performed their OWN SONG in their audition. That’s AMAZING! You all have so much potential and there is clearly a huge amount of talent in this school.
